Wizard and a redhead
Not only is the redhead allele recessive, there also had to be a mutation on the MC1R and OCA2 gene. These genes play an important role in producing the protein that codes for pigment. When there is a mutation on the gene it cannot properly produce the protein that codes for the pigment and it results in no pigment for the melancytes. If there was only a mutation on the OCA2 gene, it would result in traditional Abinism (Fair skin and light hair). With mutations on both of the genes it results in the individual having Red Hair and fair skin.
MC1R gene is located on Chromosome 16 at approximately position 24.3
